What Did I Do This Weekend?

Today’s post is slightly different to usual. A lot of my posts are about blogging advice or tips for study and while I know they might be useful, I realised that I haven’t done many posts about me. I have done some award posts that I’ve been tagged in but that’s about it. In this one though, I’ll be sharing with you what I got up to this weekend and giving you a bit of an insight into my life. Disclaimer: I can’t promise that it’s going to be interesting!

I treated myself to a bit of a lie-in on Saturday because I’ve been feeling so exhausted all of last week. Also this was my first weekend not working so I was revelling in the luxury of it. Eventually though, I forced myself out of my bed at around ten-ish. I spent the next hour trying to revise for a test I have this week but just couldn’t get myself to focus. And so I decided to postpone revising till Sunday because as I say… there is no point in distracted revision – or maybe that’s just me making excuses.

After my unsuccessful revision session, I had breakfast which was a neither exciting, nor pretty-enough-to-photograph bowl of bran flakes with almond milk. Somehow I spent around half an hour replying to comments and scrolling through Twitter and Instagram. I really am trying to cut down on the amount of time I spend on social media as part of my goals for 2018 but I have a long way to go yet…

I then headed to town to pick up some things I needed, as well as a very exciting parcel that was delivered when I wasn’t at home. When I got home, I had just about enough time to wrap birthday presents (last minute, I know…) and get ready to go out with my friends. We went to Nando’s and I tried my first ever vegetarian burger – the Beanie – which I think is made of lentils, chickpeas and such. Now, I am a very picky eater and I was honestly so surprised to find that I enjoyed it! And it was super filling too! (No, this isn’t sponsored by Nando’s…)

It was relatively late when I got home so I decided to spend what was left of the day with my family and chatting to some of my friends. It is now 1:13AM as I write this and I’m thinking about heading off to sleep. It’s been a busy day, even if I haven’t got much done in the way of school work.

My Sunday began later than I had hoped it would because my alarm didn’t go off for some bizarre reason. I spent the first part of the morning – or afternoon, I should say – catching up on school work and doing more revision. Because of the days being so short this time of year, I only get a chance to take blog photos at weekends. And because I was working over the past few months, I didn’t even have that time to myself! This Sunday though, I finally got around to taking some photos for my Instagram and blog posts.

I then gave my room a much-needed clean. I don’t quite know how it happens but my room gradually accumulates rubbish over the course of the week. Usually, I don’t get a chance to do a thorough tidy up until the weekend. I know I’m not the only one who struggles to work in a messy environment!

I checked my blog analytics to find that last week has been my blog’s best week yet, in terms of both views and visitors! I’m so thankful to all of you who visit my blog and take the time to write a thoughtful comment.

So I admit that it was a pretty uneventful day. But in all honesty, these kind of days are my favourite… No contact lenses, comfy jumpers and mugs of tea. What more do you need?!

If you got to the end of this… well done – and thanks again! I sincerely hope it didn’t send you to sleep. It was a nice change for me to write a different style of post to what I usually do so I’d definitely like to do more chatty posts in the future. Let me know what you think!
