I don’t know about you, but I much prefer to be sitting down when I’m doing my makeup. The fact that I’m very short-sighted means I have to get obscenely close to the mirror to be able to see what I’m doing, and this can be a real pain – especially when it comes to eye shadow! This makeup mirror – that was sent to me by Purfect Soluxions – has made this so much easier.
Gone are the days of struggling to put my contact lenses in, and squinting to see whether I’m putting the right product in the right place, this mirror has three panels: 1x 2x and 3x magnification. In the photo above, you can see that there is an additional detachable mirror that has 10x magnification, which is perfect for applying eyeliner or other close-up work. Effectively, the different magnifications mean you have all the mirrors you need in one place – which I find incredibly convenient. As you can see from the photos, the side mirror panels can be folded in (hence the name ‘trifold’) which protects it from dust and scratching. I find dirt accumulating on my mirror so irritating (and let’s be real, who has the time to clean it anyway?!) so I think this feature is a super handy feature for a mirror to have.
I did worry about whether I’d have enough space for this on my table, but it’s the perfect size – compact, yet big enough to see your face. The mirror panels can be detached easily from the base, so I don’t see why you couldn’t travel with it too, especially as it’s super lightweight. The mirror can be bent about the base by 180 degrees, so you can adjust it to whatever works for you, depending on where you’re sat and what you’re doing. As you can see from the photos, this means I’ve been able to move it around to wherever I felt like getting ready without any hassle. What more do you want?! There is a storage tray at the base of the mirror, but it’s pretty small and so I’m only using it for essentials – like my glasses and lip balms – but this suits me just fine because I have another storage unit for my makeup.
And now onto the LEDs – the most exciting part! I’ve seen these LED makeup mirrors all over Pinterest and Instagram recently and I’m so excited to finally possess one. The LEDs can be powered either via a micro USB cable (which is included in the box) or using 4 AAA batteries. Though I’m currently powering mine using batteries as I’d prefer not to have another cable across my table, I think this is a super handy feature to have because it means that when I do run out of my batteries, I can easily switch to cable!
If you like the look of this, you can purchase The Tristar LED Vanity Mirror and find out some more information about it here. Let me know in the comments what sort of mirror you prefer to use for makeup – I’d be interested to hear your thoughts!
